This album has been giving me a lot of rhythm for my inspiration. Highly recommend.

Ideas in Work

I really had to think deeply as to what gives me that excitement to create something. Oddly, I forgot the ‘idea’ that was the foundation of my work and it was the roots of the very foundation that had me so interested in what I was doing. And the embodiment of my work - through content, detail, etc - reached all corners of my interests, therefore I had this freedom to ‘continue’. I know this sounds weird as shit, but at the same time this freedom made me forgot what the fuck I was doing - and where all this (my work) was coming from.

I simply have to have an idea or concept to work around, one that translates to my satisfaction … not something that just exists for shit and brings no new understanding to my work. I’ve been brainstorming ideas and that interests is coming back, but as a full-time graphic designer I’m still being pulled two ways. It is sort of fulfillment, but it’s only a part of me.

And then there is this feeling of procrastination, as if I am waiting to get back into this routine. Maybe a schedule is what I need … a time set a part for my personal work …

Very excited that Curioos is selling prints of an illustration of mine for a limited time ONLY. Check it out and pass it on!! If you aren’t aware of Curioos, it is an awesome new community that I beileve will create opportunities for a lot of artists. Be sure to stop through the main site as well.

Imagine This

The more I do other things, the more I want to do other things.

The movement that is captured in Hadid’s work is just so concise and stunning. London Aquatics Center 2012 by Zaha Hadid

So effin’ creepy. Reminds me of glow-in-the-dark Nikes and bad sex (in the 80’s).

(I like it)

Feature on Juxtapoz

I remember reading Juxtapoz for the first time in highschool saying,”I want to be a part of this.” I think this small moment is one of the many smaller details of my life that have made a significance to the direction of my artwork. This is so important to me; I thank the peepz at Juxtapoz and the people who appreciate my work - much appreciated in-turn.

Check out the feature

Apologies

Sorry for the inactivity. A few weeks ago, I secured an awesome job with a well-established design firm, so I have been pretty focused and also trying to take care of a few other things while I have time. Thank you for all the recent followers, much appreciated. I will definitely come back to life pretty soon :)
